Authentic Kasaar Thekua | Traditional Bihari Thekua (Desi Ghee)

Recently got a job in Noida, and since moving here, I’ve realised how much I miss home. Especially the little things… and honestly, Dadi maa ke haath ka Thekua the most.

I had tried Thekua from a few other brands before, but somehow sabka taste thoda factory-made sa laga. Everything was too perfect, too packaged ghar wala factor missing tha.

Then a friend recommended Kasaar, so I thought chalo, ek baar try karte hain. Ordered the Thekua from their website, and I really liked that they make it in small batches after the order It didn't feel like something sitting on a shelf for months.

The first bite of the Thekua with chai brought back that familiar taste atta, gud and desi ghee simple and just the way I remember it from home.

They also sent a little thank-you card. One side had Nalanda and the other had a Chhath picture with a thank-you note. Such a small thing, but it genuinely felt thoughtful. I actually kept the card.

Maybe it sounds silly, but after moving away, you start missing these tiny pieces of home. For me, this Thekua did exactly that.

Living in Bangalore, you don't realise how much you miss ghar ka swaad until you get something like this. I’m originally from Bihar, and Thekua has always reminded me of Chhath, ghar ki rasoi and those big dabbas my family used to make during festivals.

Ordered this one mostly out of nostalgia, honestly. The first bite immediately took me back home. The taste of atta and gud with that desi ghee flavour felt very familiar — not overly sweet or artificial like some packaged sweets.

It’s the kind of Thekua you have with chai in the evening and suddenly start thinking about home. 😄

Order ke baad WhatsApp pe order details ke saath process, frying aur packaging ke videos bhi aaye. Pehle toh laga pata nahi sach me ye log aisa karte bhi hain ya bas video bana rakha hai 😅

Parcel aaya toh batch no. check kiya, same tha jo video me dikhaya tha. Ye dekh ke genuinely achha laga.

Aur packaging bhai… aise pack kiya tha jaise ghar ki aad aa gayi ho. 😄 Na bahut fancy, na artificial — ekdum apnapan wala feel.

Upar se thank-you card me Nalanda ke baare me likha tha. Usko padhte hi bachpan me jo Nalanda ghoomne gaye the na, woh pura trip yaad aa gaya. Aisa laga jaise kuch purani yaadein wapas aa gayi ho.

I loved their thekua! It had the perfect level of sweetness and instantly reminded me of my childhood, when I used to feast on thekua during Chhath Puja. It brought back so many nostalgic memories. Absolutely loved it! I’ll definitely recommend it to my friends who are always asking me where to get good thekua. ❤️

Bihar se door Bangalore mein rehkar kabhi-kabhi apne ghar aur mitti ki bahut yaad aati hai. Thekua dekhte hi bachpan aur Bihar ke wo din yaad aa gaye. Kasaar se mangaya hua Thekua taste mein bilkul ghar jaisa laga. Zyada fancy nahi, bas wahi simple, authentic taste jo dil ko apne ghar ki yaad dila de. ❤️

The pure ghee thekua tastes genuinely good and the packaging is also well done. My low rating is only about the price point, which feels high for the quantity. Quality is not the issue.

Good crunch, proper ghee aroma and clean packaging. The overall experience was trustworthy. More pack-size choices would make it even better.

I could tell this was meant to be a premium variation, but the product still stayed rooted in tradition. No strange flavours, just thekua with the added warmth of pure ghee.

This is the version I would send to someone who misses Bihar. The taste, ghee aroma and cultural details together create a stronger emotional experience than an ordinary snack box.
