Authentic Kasaar Thekua | Traditional Bihari Thekua (Regular)

I ordered this Thekua for my dadi. Our whole family has been living in Mumbai for years now, so somehow festivals don’t feel quite the same as they used to back home in Bihar.

My dadi especially misses the old ghar ka Thekua made around Chhath. When she opened this box, she first noticed the little thank-you card. One side had Nalanda on it and the other had a beautiful Chhath picture with the thank-you note. She actually kept the card aside instead of throwing it away.

And then came the Thekua. The taste of satta, gud and desi ghee instantly reminded her of the Thekua she used to make at home. It wasn't overly sweet and had that simple, slightly rustic taste we remember from Bihar.

For me, the best part wasn't even the Thekua itself — it was seeing my dadi smile and start talking about Chhath back home, how everyone used to be involved in making Thekua, and how the whole house would smell of gud and ghee.

We may all be living in Mumbai now, but for a little while, this brought Bihar back into our home.

I recently tried Kasaar Thekua and honestly enjoyed it. The taste felt quite authentic and the sweetness was just right for me.It reminded me of the traditional Thekua I’ve had at home. Overall, a very satisfying and tasty experience.
